    zahevti – I love …
zahevti – I love your definition. 100% on the mark. I buy in bulk and save my family A LOT of $. Buying #10 cans of chipped beef or the like that my family would not eat unless they were truly starving doesn’t make sense to me. Not running out of ingredients & having to make constant trips to the store saves even more time and money.

    mycat – Um, …
mycat – Um, actually, the FEMA website suggests that everyone keep at LEAST one month’s worth of food for their family. Food shortages are not going to be caused by people buying extra. Most people buy just a little extra at a time. Very few people go out and buy months worth all at once.

    mycat – wouldn’t …
mycat – wouldn’t selfishness be expecting others to take care of you rather than taking care of yourself and your family? Think of it this way, there will be more government food for everyone else..they can have my families share.

    You should put …
You should put netting on that top shelf to keep the cans from falling on your head in the event of a natural emergency. Just a thought

    If things are ever …
If things are ever so bad there’s no food–there will be so much crime, etc.–the gov’ment will be way too busy dealing with that than going door to door asking people for their spare food. I’d rather be holed up at home than hungry and trying to wander the streets looking for food during Marshal Law.

    I just put together …
I just put together my “Shelf Reliance” last night and already have it loaded up :) I customized mine so it’s all small can rows. The shelf really is as good as it looks, was easy to load, and will make food storage so much easier. I’ll just put my medium and #10′s on regular shelves since I’m single and don’t have alot of the larger cans. Shelves will work great for that stuff. Getting the “Shelf Reliance” freed up space for my 55 gallon water barrels :)

Fantastic video! I’m planning to buy a set of those shelves, also the shelves that hold the #10 cans. Shelf Reliance just came out with front shelves for the Harvest Model. Check it out!

This is going to sound crazy but if you get some netting material and hang it between the 2/4′s in the ceiling you can store store you mylar bag material up and out of the way. If you do three sets in is fairly easy to rotate

I’m cvurious–is this a year’s supply for your family? I’m just wondering what a year’s supply looks like, amount-wise. I’ve seen so many videos like this, and no one ever says how much of a supply it is, for how many people. Thanks!

    Just kidding!

I’m so happy & relieved to see more and more Americans getting ready these days for coming collapse.

You stole my thunder on that point, if the excrement hits the fans you’l see the same gov that used to preach that you should store emergency supplies accuse you of being a “food hoarder” and forcibly seize all of it to spread amongst the sheep whom did nothing to prepare.

    Unfortunately, mycatisromeo is correct.

Just doing a simple Yahoo search on Food Hoarding Laws will give you some sad results.

Keep Guns and defend yourself, family and your supplies. There is no shame in being prepared when others choose to ignore the signs.

  24. clearlyme2u Said,

    If you only have …
If you only have $60 a week for food then you need a part time job to take up the slack. For 4 people that is only $2.14 per day. Survivable, but that isn’t living. Good Luck in the days to come ! I hear those camps are going to have plenty for everyone ! I’ll never know.
