I believe that the economy is going to collapse. I live in a subdivision of a small town in FL. Will someone please tell me why I would need to be prepared to bug out. I understand this could be important for people in cities. But why would I bug out? Where would I bug out to? Are we all headed for the mountains? Help!

I think the point is to be prepared to leave if you have too. If you have 20 to 30 minutes and it takes that long just to load your vehicle then your already in trouble.

you have children, your gonna have to bring lots of vitamins thats ramon noodles wont supply. i carry a small bag full of multi-vitamins. I’d add a hatchet that doubles as a hammer, and possibly a hand saw.

I hate when people pack propane and stove its a waste of everything. just bring some fire building materials like a flint or a magnifying glass. I have a small water resistant case with about 1000 matches in it.

I have that exact set of pots and pans. I bought them for my dorm room in college, the dorms are TINY, these are perfect, I could cook full meals in the kitchen and it all packed down to 9″x9″x6″ I didnt need an entire 55 gallon bin devoted to kitchen utensils.

I also had an MSR 4 person camp pantry pack, 2″ thick, 7″x10″ roughly, i had lexan silverware, cooking oil, salt and pepper, a few spices, soap, p-38 can opener, spatula, spoon, you name it.

Not just for emergencies, also for co-eds!

Hey sendarope! Great video. However, your mention of winter suggests you live in the tropics. Up here in Northern Michigan, you are not going to be bugging out into the woods into 5 feet of snow and below zero temps. Visit my site to learn how to survive where you live. Good job though.

yeah, it sucks. we do live in a world of bad people. i recomend a mauser rifle as far as rifles go. and at least 60 rounds ammo. but, preferably between 1 and 200 rnds. if possible.

    SendARope: Just a …
SendARope: Just a heads up…. I don’t know if you’ve tried out that machete yet, but I bought that same one and the first time I used it I got about 20 min. of work out of it before it became dull and bent to the point of not being usable. I’d highly recommend upgrading to a US surplus one (I’ve used them, they rock, but they’re a good bit heavier) or a brand name. I did get a cheap no name folding saw for $6 and I’ve been out with it 3 time now and it’s a champ, plus it’s very lite.

  20. melear22 says:

    junglelover287b: …
junglelover287b: Mausers a a great rifle but I must respectfully disagree. If that’s the best rifle you’ve got, great, but their are plenty of rifles that are more mobile / liter and more importantly it’s an uncommon round. If you can, you should take something that’s chambered in a round that alot of people (like the Army) has so you have a better chance of resupllying yourself if needed. Just my opinion.

  21. junglelover287b says:

    youve got a point …
youve got a point there. i think they still use .308 for sniper rifles. that would be good enugh.

excellent video! On the medic kit- medic tape and band-aids are complete garbage, they do not last and disappear fast! You NEED rock climbers tape! You can find it at REI or other climbing suppliers. One roll lasts me over a month and I use it five days a week on my hands and finger tips at work. It stays in place all day and longer even through multiple hand washings! Give it a try and let me know what you think. Also a hand crank AM/FM radio.
