The Surgery Media Systems Ltd (SMS) digital signage network consists of an interactive touchscreen kiosk (infoTouch), an infotainment 40" LCD screen (infoScreen), an online management system (infoManager) and a public facing health information portal (www.myinfopoint.co.uk). Collectively, known as the Patient infoPoint system.
According to the Aetna customer service representative with whom I spoke, the California Department of Public Health is an out of network provider. The Aetna representative informed me that I needed to meet a deductible of $300 before they would pay for any medical expense claims associated with out of network providers.
If the public is getting any real information about single-payer health care or perspectives from physicians or citizens who support it it is because they tune into Democracy Now or Bill Moyers Journal. These could teach the networks a thing or two about contributing to rather than interfering with the public debate about health care reform.
CHICAGO – The Most Wired Survey and Benchmarking study, conducted annually by Hospitals and Health Networks, has named the "100 Most Wired Hospitals and Health Systems" for 2009. The survey measured the use of information technology at 1,314 hospitals for quality, customer service, public health and safety, business processes and workforce issues.
